Well, you already know what I think about Albert ‘introducing’ his family to Candy, lol…

Albert already knew what Lakewood means to Candy, so, after a longwhile of not having seen each other, he wanted to surprise her driving her to Lakewood. Maybe he also wanted to revive memories of their past, I mean their first meeting and find peace. We know Albert always goes to Lakewood when he wants to find peace. Probably he need it while he was returning the diary to Candy… who knows.

Never thought of that, QuevivaCandy mi querida amiga! So you think Albert took Candy to Lakewood to find peace? 😊

Interesting… Perhaps you’re right. 😍 I suppose Albert loved Lakewood even more than Candy… as she herself had written. He wanted her to see a vulnerable side of his true self before returning the diary to her? As Evelyn pointed out, Albert put the ball in Candy’s court. She had to make a decision. 💗❤💞

Hello Ms. Puddle! I am very glad to see many comments about this beautiful story. Thanks so much for your reply.
I agree with Reeka, Lakewood had a very important place in Albert and Candy’s heart, such wonderful memories!
Pleaswe don’t forget the 40th or 41 anniversary of this novel in April I guess. May be some pictures and comments
    will do.
    See you soon.
    Brenda.

      Hola Brenda! Buenos diás! 🌸

Indeed Lakewood was such a special place to both of them, and to have the last two letters in the epilogue mainly about the day trip with Albert to Lakewood speaks volumes about Candy’s future. 💗

Yes, Brenda, I’m not sure how I’m supposed to contribute to the celebration, especially I can’t speak/write Spanish. Can you tell me more about it? 😀

Hello my friend! Sorry I’m still trying to catch up here 😉 Wow! I just realized that Albert’s intentions to take Candy to Lakewood most likely was for her to “actually meet” his family by portrait inside his family’s memorial hall!! She was officially meeting his parents and relatives!! How sweet is that!! I assume the visit to the memorial hall took place prior to the return of her diary?! A bittersweet visit for this reason. Perhaps by returning the diary to her, Albert would find out whom did Candy’s heart truly belonged to at that point!
To me the scene of the return of the diary makes more sense now if you pair it with the visit to the memorial hall. At first I thought that he could have just returned her diary at Pony’s home. But in Lakewood, he is showing her his treasure by introducing her to his family, he then gives Candy back “her treasure” which in my opinion means he is looking for a commitment from her to be with him or not. Sigh!! ❤💕❤💕

      Hola Evelyn! Buenos días!! 🌹

No worries, my friend. We’re all busy, so I understand. 😘

Of course, it’s only our speculation that Albert wanted Candy to meet his family and ancestors, but it makes sense, right? Or else why did he bother driving her this far (few hours each way)? Like you, I also think it’s very sweet… 💖 After all these letter exchange, it’s time to “meet his family members”. They also toured around the premises, so it’s not unlike ” Candy, this is my home. You want to be part of my life?” 😀😁😊

I have a strong feeling that the return of the diary happened at the end of the trip (before he drove her back to the orphanage). Yup, I think Albert wanted Candy to make a decision… Implicitly asking if she was ready to commit to a relationship with him… Sigh!! 💖❤💕💓

Dear Antlay, I’m the one who should thank you for the wonderful collages. You have practically brought the letter to life!! Well done, my friend! 💖❤💕💓

  5. Reeka says:

Hi there, Ms Puddle! And Antlay! Thank you both for sharing us this wonderful series. It’s brilliant.

We know, for CCFS, Mizuki deliberately changed and shifted some scenes from Manga. Including this part where Albert invited Candy to Lakewood and showed the mansion around. I have a belief Mizuki understood that some of us somewhat feeling a missing intimacy between Candy and Albert in manga, especially after Uncle William revelation. The plot afterward felt rushed. At least it was to me. That’s why I’m glad she fixed it on CCFS. Moreover, she added some details like the memorial hall visit.

Yes, indeed Lakewood had so much precious memories for both Candy and Albert. Some said the plot of Lakewood being sold much later on, was a clue showing that The Ardley’s no longer a significant influence in Candy’s life. 🙂 Funny, in fact I think this plot benefitted Albert. First, it supported the moving across the ocean plot. And also, they no longer needed Lakewood when they both now could create new precious memories. Of course, I would love to imagine that some years later they could buy the property back.

    • Ms Puddle says:

Totally agree with you, Reeka! 💓 I like this change in CCFS, and the entire letter was beautifully written. If you can read Candy’s own words, you can tell she had indeed found her happiness with Albert. 😍 Moreover, unlike the manga which Candy had appeared uninvited to discover Albert’s true identity in Lakewood, this trip in CCFS was initiated by no other man than the owner himself. He was touring his own property with the woman he cared most about. Sigh… 💕

Like Antlay, I just love this letter plus Candy’s letter to Anthony in the epilogue. Mizuki used two letters to talk about various details of this day trip to Lakewood, so it must be very important to Candy, especially they were the last two letters in the epilogue. That speaks volumes about Candy’s future. 😀 As I said in part 2, the significant plot would be written out instead of leaving it blank for the readers to fill in their imagination. 😜😝

To me, Lakewood being sold indicates Candy still cared about that place a lot. Yes, Reeka, I also think this supports the notion why she and Anohito had to move across the ocean. I really like what you said, that Candy and Albert created their own memories together, starting from the day he had made his important confession on Pony’s Hill. 💕💖

I would like to hear from you!
