I drew this picture in memory of my dear friend who just passed away.
Knowing that my short story “My Prince Charming” happened in her hometown, Montréal, which is hours away by flight from where I live, she had suggested a happy French song for one of my chapters. She had translated the song to English for me, which had been posted on Wattpad.
Soon afterwards, my other friend, QuevivaCandy, had translated “The Diary” to Spanish for me. My friend from Montréal had offered to translate the same story to French! Her reason had been that there weren’t many Albert fics in French. I had never expected this from her because I had just met her on Twitter in September 2013.
Anyway, she had really liked my drawing for Christmas, and she had asked me if I could draw a love scene from “The Diary” as her gift. She had finished the first chapter, which had been proofread by her friend already, and she had planned to finish the second chapter before Valentine’s Day. I had been reluctant to draw a love scene mainly because I had known my weaknesses–I’m not good at drawing human bodies. Thus, I had promised her to draw another scene in my mind.
However, now that she’s gone, I think I should “grant” her wish. As expected, I’m not very satisfied with the illustration, and I still feel very upset whenever the thought that I will never get any message from her again hits me. 🙁
This drawing is for you, my dear friend:
Note: Those who have seen this post earlier may have noticed that I have made some major modifications to my original drawing.
