Invisible threads, again!

I haven’t heard of this quote before until just recently:

“Invisible Threads are the Strongest Ties”, a quote by the famous philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche  (1844-1900).

I read that he had meant that threads of love and friendship, though undetectable (invisible), could tie you to someone just as much as a sturdy rope. In fact, this quote is often used on bereavement cards to symbolize that the invisible thread will never be broken.

There’s another famous quote from this philosopher that’s about friendship:

“It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.”

Anyway, I wonder if Mizuki had known about the “invisible threads” quote when she was writing Candy Candy Final Story (CCFS). As mentioned in my earlier post, Invisible Threads, in CCFS Candy believed she and Albert had been tied by some invisible threads, and it seems that Albert had been convinced too.

As a matter of fact, the story of Candy Candy is about how Candy and her prince reunite years later. He was the first man who touched her heart, and she even fantasized about meeting him again. While living together with Albert, who was still amnesiac, Candy even admitted to him that her prince had been her first love. Neither of them was aware then that her prince had been with her all this time.

Yes, Candy had fallen in love with others, but at the end she readily and eagerly returned to the arms of her prince after his confession, which reminds me of the song “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. I show part of the lyrics here:

I have died every day
Waiting for you
Darlin’ don’t be afraid,
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

And all along I believed
I would find you
Time has brought
Your heart to me
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

Although I’m not a big fan of Twilight, I actually like this song very much. I like her voice and singing, and the song is romantic!

Anyway, here is the link to the music video for your interest. Have a marvelous weekend! 😀
