Ms Puddle's Haven

Down the Memory Lane (Part 2)

Hi all, how are you doing? Have you got vaccinated yet? I hope all is well with you. The COVID surge in India, Nepal and some other Asian countries is alarming to say the least. 🙁 The countries in Europe and North America are all trying to help. My co-workers, my friends and I have also donated to charities specifically for India.

As mentioned in my previous post, after re-reading my longest fanfic Love Never Fails, I was inspired to draw a new fanart or write a new fanfic. Unfortunately, my drawing tablet suddenly stopped working. I have tried to fix it but to no avail. 🙁 I just got a new drawing pen. Let’s see if I can get used to it soon and publish a new drawing.

Also, I was going to write a new fanfic, and tentatively the title is “Forget me not”. This is one of the pictures taken in my neighbourhood last week:

However, a nagging voice in my head kept telling me that I should deal with the obvious mistakes in Love Never Fails. Hence, I ended up revising many chapters (from Chapter 6 to Chapter 35)!! 😉 I did way more than checking for grammar or typos. I have simplified long sentences, clarified some parts and added new details. If any of you spot any error, please kindly let me know. 🥰 To those who have asked me about the Spanish version, El Amor Nunca Falla, I hope my revised chapters are easier to read now. For different reasons, I have lost contact with the translators for years. I’m sorry this translation project could not continue.

I was a bit hesitant about posting the fanarts inspired by this fanfic though. Many of them contain spoilers after all. 🤔 That being said, since many Candy Candy fans around the world is celebrating Candy’s birthday on May 7th, I think I can post one from Chapter 45, which was about Candy’s 18th birthday. I have not changed this chapter recently, but it’s undoubtedly one of my favourites:

For those who are interested to see the other illustrations for Love Never Fails, please feel free to click on the slideshow above. As you may have noticed, my drawing style has changed over time. Now that I look back, some of these drawings are mediocre. 🙁 Hence, don’t expect too much, lol. 😀

Before I end this short post, I’d like to share this news article with you about a former Vancouver mayor’s wedding. Mr. Robertson wore a kilt for his wedding and his bride wore a sash of Robertson’s family tartan. In Love Never Fails, Albert and his groomsmen were dressed in kilts for the wedding too.

Anyway, do take care and stay safe, my friends! See you around 🙂
