    • Ms Puddle says:

Yes, Brenda, I wish you all the best, to find someone special and wonderful like Albert! 💖

You’re right! It’s beautiful to be alive. Let me quote Candy’s words in her letter to Anthony. “We don’t know what tomorrow brings, but as long as we live, we have hope.” ❤❤❤

  2. Brenda says:

Ms puddle Thanks for your response! Imagine two orphans,a poor one Candy and a rich one, Albert. They have shared a live alone, but fate got them toghether finally! I´d like to thank you for the translation of the originals novel and manga as well !
How lucky you are! Don’t worry about me, I really appreciate your time writing such beautiful stories! But for now I think you should take a rest, my dear friend.
    Have a nice weekend!

    • Ms Puddle says:

Thank you Brenda! Yes, so true, they were both orphans. Neither of them grew up with his or her parents. Yet, fate brought them together, again and again.

You’re welcome, dear Brenda! 😍 Glad you enjoyed reading my thoughts and translations. I’d like to share with you wonderful people. It makes reading CCFS a treat to me.

Wish you a marvelous weekend too! 😘

    Hi MsPuddle!
Thanks so much for your time answering all of our comments! I have just read about Menchew ‘ post
in August.i totally agree with her, but also I would like to tell her that I am sorry for her lost. Since
4 years ago I lost my dear husband. So, I understand how is to lose someone in our lives. Please tell her I send her all my love, prayers for her and her family too. You will need sometime … my dear.
Please be free to write when you like!

Anyway, i would like to share with you about the love triangles in CCS. 1. Candy+Anthony +Eliza 2. Candy+Terry+
Eliza. 3. Susan+Terry+ Candy. 4.Terry+Candy+Albert. I am gratefull for the special post about the manga ending and Prince on the hill 4 and the pictures. well ,l think Albert in the end manga and anime decided to show up as
Candy’s prince on the hill to candy. Don´t you think he was flirting to Candy? I think he understood how deeply
she missed him ! Nobody knew Candy better than him!

    • Ms Puddle says:

I’m very sorry to hear you have lost your husband, Brenda! 😱 I feel bad for you, my friend! 😖

It’ll be a long day to me today, but I’ll try to get back to you later this afternoon. ❤

    • Memchew says:

      Brenda,
I’m sorry about your husband. I believe you are in a company of friends even though we are really strangers to each other. Thank you for your kind words.

    • Ms Puddle says:

      Hello Brenda!

Once again, it’s never easy for any of us to lose someone dear to our hearts. For your case, even though it happened four years ago, I’m sure your late husband has remained dear in your heart. Perhaps one day you will find someone special again?

Anyway, back to CC, and thanks for listing the love triangles… Don’t forget Archie, Annie and Candy! 😝😋 I hope by the time Archie proposed to Annie in CCFS, he had completely got over Candy. Maybe he could see that her heart belonged to his young, handsome uncle.

About Albert’s coming to Pony’s Hill to show up as Prince on the Hill, to me, he wasn’t flirting, but it was his love confession. As you said, nobody knew Candy better than him, and he was fully aware who POTH was to her all these years. With the knowledge of how much she had missed him during his absence, I think he had finally taken one of the most important steps in his life, to confess his love on the same spot where he had met her long time ago. 😍❤💓

  4. Evelyn says:

Dear Ms Puddle, I also love the image above of Candy remembering their tender and intimate moments. Albert here looks so loving and handsome.
I completely agree with Candy Bert that Albert made a hasty decision by leaving the Magnolia house in such a hurry to protect Candy’s honor, even though she had decided and was willing to leave the apartment with him because she believed in him, but Albert still decided to leave that evening. Sigh! Come to think of it, Albert could have continued to live with Candy based on her own statement to leave the Magnolia house together with Albert to live somewhere else. She was willing to follow him where ever he went. But Albert decided to end his relationship to Candy at this point to protect her honor. It is clear that Albert was already in love with Candy by this time. I guess once Albert realized how he was being perceived by the residents and landlord at the Magnolia house, it would be logical to think that he thought there was no use to continue to stay by Candy’s side since he thought that her heart belonged to Terry anyway. Staying by her side would only extend his agony of unrequited love!? I do not believe Candy realized how deep her feelings were for Albert until she lost him. She knew she wanted to live with him and be by his side. She always said that Albert made her feel safe and at ease as he was always there for her. But she was too preoccupied grieving for Terry and may have taken Albert for granted. Or perhaps she did not sense Albert’s feelings toward her? So, the decision that Albert took to leave Candy’s side was both to reunite Candy with Terry to finally give her up, as well as to protect his own heart…maybe the distance would erase his feeling for her! Sigh, sigh!!

I also wonder at what point would Albert have decided to look for Candy? Like you, Ms Puddle, I also believe that Albert would have found out at some point that Candy did not join Terry, and that she continued looking for him in Rockstown. Albert was unaware of Candy’s forced engagement to Neil until she told him herself but these event were still pretty new so eventually he was going to find out. I guess, my point is that somehow fate brought them together. In the past, Albert was the one who always found her, but this time it was Candy who found him! Again, the circle of life keeps bringing them together and reuniting them. They both give to each other, are indebted to each other and are tied by invisible threads to each other! 🙂 Sorry my thoughts are a bit scared here..! 😉

    • Evelyn says:

meant to say scattered here.. 🙂

    • Ms Puddle says:

Agree with you, dear Evelyn! 😍 Albert looks very loving and handsome, and that was the face Candy longed to see again… Sigh! ❤💟

Indeed Candy had made up her mind to stick with Albert even though he had been badmouthed by the landlady and neighbors. Like you, I also think it was a wake-up call to Albert… Time to leave Candy, in order not to extend his agony of suffering from unrequited love. 😓 He had stolen some time to keep his recovery a secret from her, but with the assumption that she was still very much in love with Terry, Albert decided to vanish… Untill his heart was healed. 😫

I’m with you, Evelyn. I don’t think Candy had sensed anything prior to this, not Albert’s deep feelings nor her own feelings for him. 💑

About when exactly Albert had found out about Candy’s decision in Rockstown, only Mizuki knows! 😝😋 However, it could likely be before Neil’s forced engagement. Candy had returned to Chicago for some time before George showed up one day. Perhaps Albert was baffled by the outcome, or he was tied up at work?! Anyway, as you said, the invisible thread brought Candy back to Albert… Remember it was good old George who saw through his young boss’ agony. Right? 😘😙

      • Evelyn says:

Agree indeed that Candy did not sense or realize how deep Albert’s love for her was, that he was in love with her!!! She just knew she liked to be with him! The sandwich scene I thought would let her see this or at least wonder if Albert felt something for her but it didn’t, not at least right away because right after that she went looking for Terry with a stranger which proved and opened her own eyes that she was still blinded by the mention of his mere name and she realized that! 😔 Come to think of it Terry could have come to look for her in Chicago somewhere. He knew she lived in Chicago but he was depressed. So interesting to see that even a glimpse or illusion of Candy ended up helping Terry recover and return to Susana and fulfill his dream of acting.

You know Ms puddle, I had not fully realized or truly pondered that maybe George knew that Albert was in love with Candy and after seeing the family’s intentions to marry off Candy and the emotional state of desperation that Candy was in right after learning the family’s plans to marry her to Neil, at that point he surely must have thought that it was now or never to send Candy to meet with Albert to give Albert a chance with Candy!! He took that decision and it was the first time he disobeyed his young boss! Sigh!! 😘😍 perhaps he saw that Albert still loved Candy and decided to give it a shoot for them!! Good call George!!! ♥️ That’s why Albert thanked George later when he came to pick up Candy. 💘💞❤️

        • Ms Puddle says:

Well said, dear Evelyn, that Candy didn’t understand Albert’s love for her, and she actually went with a stranger that evening just because he had used Terry’s name. 🙁

You got it, my friend, about George. 😘😍 I’m sure George could see thru his young boss like a book. In fact, there are hints in CCFS that both Candy and Albert were grateful to him for his disobedient act!! 💟❤💓

  5. Reeka says:

Thank you, ms Puddle, for mentioning me. Like I said, although we all tend to blame Albert for leaving Candy without words, all of us, Albert fans of course, also agree that Rockstown scene was brilliant. Yes, there’s no “I love you” and no kiss on the lips between Albert and Candy, but anyone who sees this pages can tell how heart broken she was. And this time, she didn’t try to mask her feeling nor pretend to be cheerful .. she must appear sad and miserable so that doctor Martin noticed it and then helped her draw Albert picture.

Interesting, Albert always appeared out of the blue. Suddenly I remember the end of CCFS. Anohito also appeared out of the blue. Not exactly like a vagabond Albert though who came and went like wind 😀 , but Candy clearly said “why didn’t I hear him coming”? 🙂 Well, it sounds out of the blue to me. She had been losing herself on her thought that she didn’t expect her husband was home at that moment. Older Albert ( Anohito) was still an expert of stealth apparently. 🙂

I agree, my friend. If Albert didn’t feel anything to Candy, he would honestly tell her about who he really was. He had his decision to resume his position as patriarch anyway, at this point of his life. Wasn’t it great for him at last to be able to pay back Candy and ask her to move to mansion, or buy her a more luxurious apartment? No, that was not great at all for Albert, right? Because being Uncle William was the last thing he wanted to be at that time.

I once thought why didn’t he say it all to her that he loved her and he was Uncle William and if she reciprocated his feeling, legal issue was not a problem? I believe Albert was aware Candy was so much attached to him this time and very very fond of him. He was bright enough to understand their friendship had been developing a lot. But then I realise, beside that dark cloud named Terry, Albert had to settle down first at patriarch and “took care” of his aunt. He had to change his aunt perspective to Candy first. Because he knew it might hurt Candy if his aunt rejected her harshly. More over, he must be aware, not like any other women who might get excited to get involve with a man like WAA, Candy was more likely not very fond of that idea.

So yeah, I guess I understand why he left her quietly. I used to think he was being impulsive to leave Candy that way .. but now I may say Albert actually had weighed this matter very thoroughly. He would do more harms if he was being honest. He thought his feeling to Candy could slowly evaporate, being away from her. But then he might hear from his man, or George, that Candy appeared sad all the time and looked for him around the city. I guess he then thought he could fix it by reuniting Candy with Terry. Yeah well, we all know that was not the case 🙂

About the change in CCFS, yeah I think he didn’t want to hurt her more by telling he had recovered his memory. Knowing that he and Candy had many history together, yet he left her without words after all she had done to him as amnesiac patient. But then again, I think it then matched with how Candy kept asking him on her letters when exactly his memory recovered?

    • Ms Puddle says:

Great point, Reeka!! Albert, either as adult or POTH, always appeared out of the blue… All those sudden visits at Pony’s Home too… 😜😝😘

Yes, Rockstown episode is indeed brilliant… Reveals a great deal before and after… so I’ll continue this Rockstown discussion in part 5. 😙😘

I’m in complete agreement with you, Reeka, that Albert couldn’t face the reality yet when he had to leave Magnolia for good… Just as you said, being Candy’s Uncle William was the last thing he wanted… Sigh.

However, unlike you, I believe Albert still assumed Candy’s heart belonged to Terry, and that’s probably one reason why he had tracked down Terry in Rockstown. Albert really wanted Candy to be happy, so that’s what he did for her.

Of course, just my 2 cents. 😳

But what you said was highly plausible… Besides, he probably couldn’t continue living with Candy without making his aunt suspicious? I don’t know. 😝

I’m gonna quote you again, my dear friend. I’m going to talk more in part 5. 😘😍

  6. Luna says:

    Hello dear Ms Puddle,

Everyone in the story has learnt something from Candy as we know. This is so true for Albert as well. He learnt he had to take his responsibilities concerning his family . Due to Candy again , he understood not to be a selfish person. By sacrificing his love in order to reunite Candy and Terry, actually he was imitating Candy. But he did not take in account whether she had some feelings for him or not. As everyone said , he made a mistake by leaving her alone and sending her to that town. I agree with all these written things but Just I would like to know whether he knew that she didn’t stay with Terry.

Lastly, I would like to add a very personal opinion about CCFS. In my opinion, the author shouldn’t have written CCFS. Instead of it, she could have written a story about Albert s life ( his ex girl friends, school years, his thoughts about Candy before the accident). Thus, the story would have been completed. Because he is the prince of the hill and as a reader we have the right to know who he is exactly. Contrary, in order to please Terry s fans with an open ending story (even everything is still indicating Albert), she wrote this CCFS. Due to her, no one is happy.

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us.💕

    Greetings.

    • Ms Puddle says:

      Bonjour, dear Luna, 😘

I mostly agree with you, and in addition to what you said about what Albert had learned from Candy, I guess he also realized he could use his power to help a person in need. 😊 That was why he adopted Candy on his own accord and authority. Nobody could alter his decision. *wink* He could practically marry whomever he wanted… No need to wait for anyone’s approval. *wink* 😉😝

I strongly believe Albert somehow knew the outcome of Candy’s trip to Rockstown. 😀 At the very least, he knew Candy returned to Chicago without going to New York with Terry, right? 😄 Albert could easily read Terry’s return to Broadway and Susanna on magazines, just as Candy said in her unsent letter to Terry.

Besides, Albert kept Candy’s lousy drawing of him in his office. I think he found out what had happened during his absence probably from Candy herself. 😍

Like you, I wish CCFS was more about Albert, not necessarily his past, but more his story with Candy, not in letters to and from a bunch of people, but as narratives. 😅😝😜

  7. Candy Bert says:

I totally agree with you about Albert’s sudden departure from the Magnolias, I think it was the biggest mistake of Albert, he took a wrong decision in a hurry to preserve Candy. It was difficult for him to leave the woman he loved but, he knew he had to do it, one day, and the ultimatum has pushed him to leave. I think he was suppressing his strong feelings for her for months and it would be easier far away from her. I think Albert had underestimated the feelings of Candy for him, if he realised she began to develop a certain feeling for him, perhaps he was even thinking he was her second choice, a choice by spite. It’s why he led her to Rockstown, to reunite her with Terry, thinking he was her true choice! How he must have been astonished to know she had not wanted to talk to Terry then and to stay with him! On the contrary, Candy had frantically chasing him all over the town by showing a drawing of him! Typically the attitude of a worried woman in love! 😀
But at the end, his wrong decision was transformed in a good thing, indeed, because Candy needed to miss Albert to realize she was deeply in love with him.💗
Too bad in CCFS he left without saying her he had recovered his memory but I join Reeka’s POV, perhaps he didn’t want to hurt her more! Perhaps he wanted to elaborate his thoughts to explain why he had hidden the truth but he had no time to do so! Therefore he chose to say nothing at all about this topic!
The parallel between CC and DLL speaks volume, it’s so obvious Mizuki had taken her inspiration in DLL! 😀

    • Ms Puddle says:

Yes I agree with you, Candy Bert, that Albert must have suppressed his strong feelings for Candy for months… With the assumption that she still loved Terry, Albert needed to get away from her to “readjust” his feelings. 😥 Candy’s attachment to Albert had always been strong, but he might have thought that he could only be her big brother, so he led her to Rockstown. 😅

I’ll compare the differences between the version in CCFS and manga concerning the Rockstown episode. I need to gather my thoughts first.

Yes, indeed the parallels between DLL and CC are striking!! No wonder I was told that some Terry fans dislike DLL very much… 😜😝

Yes, Candy missed Albert so much that she ventured into an unknown place and looked for Albert everywhere in town. It isn’t very clear in CCFS as shown in the manga, but she wrote to Miss Baker that she had gone to Rockstown to look for a missing person, someone who had helped her a lot. 💕💓

  8. Memchew says:

    Hi, Ms Puddle
Agree with what you wrote. The one thing that was unfortunate or sad moment was when Albert unknowingly hurt Candy when all he ever wanted was her happiness. But, this may have been a heartache for both but it was good for their separation so they can really really have clarity on what their hearts truly desire and also understand and face all the obstacles and challenges that will be there for them. For when they were “roommates” at the Magnolia house- they were secluded living in their own world, their reality – and Albert and Candy were just living simply, quiet and they got to really know each other. So, stepping out of that world- Albert becoming what he is supposed to be- the patriarch and guardian of Candy while Candy- becoming who she is supposed to be- was a TEST and they splendidly passed with flying colors! The reward was being together.
My thoughts are disjointed- I apologize due to emotional and physical upheavals- thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Will await for the next one……

    • Ms Puddle says:

Nice to hear from you again, Memchew! 😍

Are you alright? Emotional and physical upheavals? 😅 Thanks though for dropping by. 😊

I totally agree with you, that Albert had unintentionally broken Candy’s heart by leaving her without warning. That’s why I prefer the manga version, because at least he explained he had already recovered. That was their agreement to each other in the first place.

You’re so right that Albert’s mistake by separating himself from Candy was actually beneficial to them both. That they could really understand their hearts’ desires. When they reunited at Lakewood, I’m sure they had changed… No longer brother and sister. 😃😉😘

      • Memchew says:

        Ms Puddle

A month of being in an emotional roller coaster ride that finally ended last October 11. My mom had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer (she was a non smoker) and she fought hard – we did for her- but her body got too weak and we lost her and we buried her is October 17- thank you for asking. I have been staying strong for my dad and siblings. Being the calming effect for everyone. I’m ok as can be. I’m glad my mom didn’t suffer long.
These moments of discussion with our fave couple- helps! Thank you.
I would like to send you a song – Answered Prayer- I don’t know how- my recording with my brother and I think it is relatable to our Albert and Candy.
Keep writing. I will be waiting.

        • Ms Puddle says:

I’m terribly sorry to hear that, dear Memchew. My sincere condolences to you and your family. In fact, one of my friends just lost his mother to cancer too, and I’m going to attend funeral service this weekend.

Memchew, I understand you need to stay strong for your loved ones, but I also hope you can act weak sometimes… You’re hurting too, just like the rest of your family.

If you want to send me something, you can go to my Facebook page and send me a private message at https://www.facebook.com/mspuddleshaven. I’m looking forward to hearing from you. ❤❤

          • Memchew says:

Thank you , Ms. Puddle! Noted on the being weak part. Appreciate it! Even though I don’t know your friend – I am sincerely sending my condolences. Cancer is one enemy I have friends and family face and unfortunately had lost against.
I will send the song – thank you again!
I consider this as part of my healing!
            Appreciate it!

          • Memchew says:

I realized – I am not on FB anymore – too busy to keep track of my own account – please give me another option – understand your privacy – when you are comfortable – where you are… thanks!

          • Candy Bert says:

All my sincerest condolences to you and your friend too, Ms Puddle!

        • Luna says:

I m very sorry for your lost dear Memchew. It is not an easy moment. And sharing your sadness here with us, I mean with followers of this page, is important. Here,I don’t know anyone personally but I have a feeling that everyone in Ms Puddle s blog is a very sensitive, emotional person and still keeps the child inside .So actually we have some common points more than Candy Candy. (This is so true for Terry s fans as well) finding each other without knowing is a good step in order to understand we re not alone. You are here, you are one of us, so you are not alone. I m sending a very strong, positive energy to you by wishing the best in this difficult moment.
          Condolences,
          Luna

          • Ms Puddle says:

Well said, Luna! We all share some common points but more than just Candy Candy. So true. ❤❤

Have a good night, Luna. 😴

          • Memchew says:

Thank you, Luna! Yes! We may all be strangers but our inner child in all of us keep that pure spirit that continue and flourish and make us appreciate each other and learn from each other.
            Thank you again!

            Memchew

My deepest condolences to you and your family, is not easy to face a significant loss being and especially bear with fortitude to give encouragement to our family. But we must rely on God to strengthen us and remember that our significant others have only changed their residence to the sky, and remember with joy and gratitude all the love they gave us.
And if you need someone to talk to vent, because I know how difficult it is to be strong to support others, I am at your service.

        • Candy Bert says:

I’m terribly sad to hear that, all my sincerest condolences to you, Memchew, and your family! I join Ms Puddle, I know we want to be strong to support the rest of family in grief, but you need yourself to be support too! and I share exactly the same feeling of Luna who had expressed very well my sentiment!

It’s not easy to find the right words to soothe such a loss, I know that, but I only quote CCFS – Candy’s letter to Anthony: ” A flower falls to bloom more beautifully. A person dies to be revived in the heart of others even more beautifully…” Yes, our late beloved ones can live forever in our hearts.
          You take care.

        • Evelyn says:

Dear Memchew, my deepest and sincere condolences to you and your family. I am just able to read this post and it just broke my heart to hear about your mom. You sound like a strong woman but with the most tender heart. My prayers are with you at this moment! One day at a time dear Memchew 💕

Oh, my goodness! You are all kindred spirits! If you have read Anne of Green Gables- you will understand what I meant.

Thank you, Candybert, Antlay31, Evelyn, Luna, and Ms Puddle.
Special mention, Candy Bert for mentioning the letter to Anthony. It touched me to the core. It hit home!
