Christmas two years ago…
Time flies! Christmas is one week away, and before you know it, it will be 2015! 😀
I started writing “My Prince Charming” in December 2012 and finished it in January 2013. I can hardly believe it’s been two years already. 😛 It’s an original story (with winter theme), inspired by the story of Candy Candy. It took place in Vancouver, BC, Canada in current settings. Candy in my story just started college and is much taller (very athletic). Besides, she doesn’t have freckles like the original Candy. Also, Albert is about five years older than her, so he’s in his early twenties.
One reader, who used to have the penname monybert-DC, liked this story so much that she offered to translate it to Spanish for me. It was my first story translated to Spanish, and my friend Liliana helped proofread her draft. Though I have thanked them both, I still feel that I should do more to show my appreciation.
As my drawing skills gradually improved over time, I have gained more confidence and started drawing several pictures for some friends who have helped me translate my other short stories since then. Therefore, I think it’s about time I illustrate a fanart for both monybert-DC and Liliana. It’s long overdue indeed, and just recently, I received a new review to the Spanish version of this story! What an encouragement! 😀
Unfortunately, I have lost touch with monybert-DC, and if any of you know her, please contact her for me. Here I present to you my new drawing this Christmas. Thank you, Liliana, for your patience and understanding! Feliz Navidad!! 🙂
what happened to the promise? 🙁
Well, since the idea of the drawing was from my profile picture… I’m forced to download it and keep it in my server. 🙁
As you have said dear, you have improved over time. I loved their charming faces. Candy’s smile is full of life and emotion. Albert looks handsome and tender as I have always thought he would be. Thank you so much for keeping sharing with all of us, your gifts, talents and ideas.
You enlighten my world. You encourage me with your good work. You fill my heart with your tenderness and sweet words.
Please continue this wonderful task. God bless you! Merry Christmas and Happy 2015!
Ps. I hope I can follow your steps somehow!!
Hola SweetCandyAndley mi amiga! Feliz Navidad!!
Thank you so much for your encouraging words, and I’m flattered indeed. One thing I’m sure though is that God has made each of us special, and I’m certain that you can continue sharing your gifts and talents with others!
May God bless you and your family in the new year, my friend!!
The softness of their eyes makes my heart melt! (y)
Thank you CAW for your compliment! Merry Christmas! 🙂
Good evening Ms Puddle
Bonjour, Antlay!!
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement for my drawing and story! 😀 A reader from Mexico, also an Albert fan, suggested that wonderful place after reading the first chapter. She was also the one who helped me with the Spanish conversations in the second chapter. So you were there? For fifteen days? How I envy you, my dear! 🙂
Felicidades. Por tu trabajo que es bello.
Feliz navidad y felices fiestas decembrinas
Muchas gracias, Delia!! Feliz Navidad!! 🙂
