Where did you read all this wonderful comments from Albert in the original novels? I just love to see his connection to being Anohito and how it makes so much sense that all the events in her life were leading her to see him at last…

Hello Nora, thanks for reading the long post. These were based on the spoilers (translations done by fans, not professionals) of the old Candy Candy novel plus Candy Candy final story (CCFS). They used to be published on some Candy Candy websites, but I was told that they are no longer available. I’m not so sure. But you can read some CCFS spoilers in fanfiction.net. Look for the Candy Candy fanfic “Amor Aeternus”, and chapter 27 contains the spoilers. You can read them, and you will see how important Albert had become in Candy’s life. Enjoy! 🙂

That’s some analysis and it all makes makes sense.
It was al destiny. She met her prince when she was too young. She didn’t see him since, or so she thought. And when she was old enough she met him again (when Albert revealed himself as the prince of the hill).
Candy and Albert were meant to be together from the moment they met. Anthony and Terry were there to fill the gap until she was old enough for Albert.

    • Ms Puddle says:

Exactly CKati!! Come to think of it, Candy Candy is really a story of Candy and her prince, who was the first man in her life and also the last. She met other boys and fell in love with them in between, but fate took them away from her. Yet her prince had been with her all along. She just didn’t know it until the right time came. 😉

i don’t understand why terry fans are having hard time to comprehend that mizuki meant for albert and candy to be together. manga has more proofs than in anime.

Another example of couple who had larger age gap and they were the real people. At first I thought they were just couple of animes, lol. Until I read them on History. You know George Von Trapp who had seven kids from his late wife? He married his kids’ governess, Maria Kutschera. They had three kids together. I think they were about twenty years apart. True love has blossomed upon them and cared less about their age. Weren’t they so romantic about them? If their names were Candy or Albert, I would’ve jumped with glee!

    • candyfan says:

He and his late wife were 11 years apart, just like Candy and Albert, sighs…

    • Ms Puddle says:

Yes! The famous “Sound of music” right? I didn’t know they were 20 years apart though, but their story is very touching indeed!! 😀

      • candyfan says:

        Oops, 25 years apart 😀

Yes it was Sound of Music, my very favorite. Maria was 22 when they got married. 🙂 One of the kids of George from first wife is still alive. And so are the kids by Maria. They are probably our mothers’ ages. I wonder if they saw the Sound of Music? 😀

        • Ms Puddle says:

Why not? Heeheehee… That movie is definitely a classic, and those children are so adorable! ^_^

You said it! My favorite child there is the youngest one. She’s so cute! 😀

I picture her as your Albert and Candy’s daughter from your story “Papa What makes a Prince?” 😉 Can you draw them as happy family?

You know, I think I understand why Mizuki changed Albert’s (or Prince of the Hill’s) age from 15 to 17. In her new novel, Albert narrated to Candy that he was driving to get away from his Aunt Elroy and he boasted that he drives better than Stear. Usually, here in America, teenagers start to earn driver’s license for school and such at the age of 16 or 17. No way can they allow teenagers to drive at the age of 15. So that makes perfect sense about his age. But that doesn’t matter. The image of him you posted is incredibly CUTE I want to pinch his cheeks! 😛

I read your chapter if you want to know.

    • Ms Puddle says:

Thank you for your feedback and reading my chapter! 😀 Yes I also think that both Prince on the Hill and little Candy look very cute on the picture.

However, as much as I know, there was no traffic law back in that time until early 20th century. Pretty much if you could afford a car you could drive. This is from Wikipedia, “on August 1, 1910, North America’s first licensing law for motor vehicles went into effect in the U.S. state of New York, though it initially applied only to professional chauffeurs… In July 1913, the state of New Jersey became the first to require all drivers to pass a mandatory examination before receiving a license.”

In addition, even nowadays, the minimum age requirement to drive varies from 14 to 16 in different states in US. I hope I have answered your questions. 🙂
