Treehouse, Island and Stream
Many thanks to those who have already read the latest chapter(s) of “Love Never Fails”. In particular, I truly appreciate your review comments, and your support and kind words have touched my heart considerably. I will respond to your comments in my next post, but here I’d like to tell you what I had in mind when writing these chapters.
The title itself already contains spoilers, so I’ve waited till now to write this post. Those who haven’t yet read the chapter might want to skip this post entirely. 🙂
First of all, for Albert and Candy in my story, I wanted to find a perfect place for their wedding night, preferably secluded and carefree. Since they both enjoyed climbing trees, I thought of treehouses. While I used to think treehouses were meant for kids, I was wrong. I did some research and found a site that shows many incredible treehouses. The one I had in mind for Albert and Candy looks like this house, but in the story, it was bigger with two floors.
Inside the treehouse, it should be simplistic, if not rustic, unlike the ones shown in
http://design-milk.com/house-built-around-trees-casa-corallo-paz-arquitectura/
However, you see how tree trunks went through the floors and ceilings like columns. Marvelous design, isn’t it?
How about the staircase? I thought about normal ones, but I wanted something special for my favorite couple, so I borrowed the idea from this impressive spiral staircase design (though in the story it wasn’t as elegant looking).
Now you might ask me, why island? My idea was to let them be themselves, totally free, without any prying eyes, so I gave them an uninhabited island. I think this idea suits them both very well, don’t you think?
About an hour drive from where I live, there are several islands that serve to give you an idea of what the one in my mind looks like. It isn’t the small one on the left, but the larger one in the middle. Hence, it’s large enough for Candy and Albert to spend a day to explore.
Many people enjoy swimming in a stream, and I also got good examples within driving distance in my neighborhood. When I was there, people were frolicking in the waters as expected, but I managed to take a few pictures without people in them. As you can see, some part of the stream was shallower than the other parts, where the current was so much stronger and the water was deeper. Yet, there existed a quieter spot where the water was deep enough for swimming and even diving.
I hope you like what I have shared with you in this post. Do you feel like re-reading my chapter(s) again? Just kidding. 🙂
Hello, actually I want to start it all over again, I really like your story. (I was rushing to get to the end) you gave me the ending that I wanted.few things that got me wondering some how. But I know you’re busy. I appreciate the time you take to write your wonderful stoties. I do have a favor to ask you I’m dying to read all about ccf but I haven’t been able to find it. I found some letters here and there but not only the letters are important as I learned as I was reading your story. On one of the chapter you mentioned that. You have the links(to bad a lot of them don’t work now) but maybe you got something to share please . Thank you very much for such wonderful ending.
Hello Iris! Nice to meet you. Thank you for reading LNF! I’m happy to hear from you that you like my story. For CCFS, you can check ch 27 of another Candy/Albert fanfic “Amor Aeternus”. The important ones are there, so enjoy!! I plan to continue sharing my perspectives on some of the letters in the near future. Please stay tuned. Have a good day!
Now i can imagine the treehouse clearly :). Well, it was a bit out of my limited imagination at first to picture the lower deck for their bedroom. Now i’m imagining it as a combination at the one you showed ( with the hanging bridge, #8 from Seattle) and #14 from Costa Rica. With the stream under the lower deck. Geeez … it’s so Candy and Albert indeed. If my husband brought me to that kind of tree house, guaranteed i couldn’t sleep as i worried of snakes and insects. LOL.
You did a marvellous job! I really love writers who are willing to do research for their stories, especially as CC involved very different custom, culture, background, and norms as what we have now. So kudos to you, my friend!
p.s : Sure I will re-read the last 3 chapters and then the whole story. ^^
Hello Reeka dear!! Thanks for telling me what you think! I’m glad this post helped you visualize what I had in mind for Albert and Candy! Imagine a two storey house built around the trees. 😀
Snakes and insects? That’s true… Lol! But I think Albert knew what to do. 😉
I wanted my story to make sense, so I had done quite a bit of research. It was worth it, and I enjoyed reading historical facts too!
Thanks again my friend for your support!! I truly appreciate your feedback! 🙂
