Love grew into romance (Part 3)

I found the following quotes. Do you agree? Every girl has her best friend, boyfriend and true love. Lucky if they are all the same person. (~ source unknown) All love that has not friendship for its base, is like a mansion built upon the sand. (~ Ella Wheeler Wilcox) It’s clear in Candy Candy, Candy and Albert …

Love grew into romance (Part 2)

This is meant to clarify what I said in my previous post. I used the young actor, Brenton Thwaites, only to give you a real life example of what a grown-up man, who is 25 years old and 1.87m tall, can actually look very boyish. I also replaced the tiny picture I used earlier with a …

Love grew into romance

There’s a book called “My Heart Can’t Tell You No” by M.K. Heffner, in which it talks about a boy who used to love a girl like a little sister. When she grew into a teen beauty, their love grew into romance. I haven’t read the book myself, but I suppose the word “love” refers to the broader sense of love, …

Invisible Threads

Recently, I re-published the Spanish translations of my short stories to fanfiction.net (once again, my deepest gratitude to my dear friend, QuevivaCandy). Two particular reviews from different readers caught my attention, and I would like to share them with you here: A review for “Siesta Vespertina” (Afternoon Nap): Guest chapter 1 . Aug 19 Hermoso y …

Best friends

Thanks to Reeka for recommending the song “Lucky” by Jason Mraz, featuring Colbie Caillat. Both of us think that the lyrics matched the relationship of Albert and Candy in Candy Candy very well: The official music video is The lyrics are: Do you hear me, I’m talking to you Across the water across the deep blue ocean …

Status update

I’ve been quiet for so long as I’m occupied lately, writing the epilogue of “Love Never Fails”, mainly about the wedded bliss of Albert and Candy. 😀 One might ask if married couples can indeed sustain wedded bliss. I strongly believe if both partners are willing to contribute and know the meaning of true love, it can happen. Below I share a funny article with you. Until next time. 🙂 http://www.tnonline.com/2011/oct/01/40-years-wedded-bliss

Love Triangle (Part 2)

It’s been a while since I wrote Part 1 of this series. I’ve spent more time writing “Love Never Fails” or drawing instead. Anyway, thanks for your patience. 😀 Back to this topic, both Terry and Albert were striking young men as depicted in the manga. Candy could see that Terry got the eyes from his mother, Eleanor Baker, who was …

The song “All of me”

Yesterday, when I was about to publish Chapter 45, I was very surprised to see the number of unique visitors to Chapter 44. It used to take nearly a month or more to reach that, so it’s my new record. No doubt I was tremendously encouraged. It does make my dedication and hard work pay …

Love Triangle (Part 1)

Reeka, thank you for leaving long comments to my earlier posts, Matching Pajamas and Ambiguous Letter, such that I have an excuse to write a new series. 😉 It has taken me a while to start because I’m also writing my next chapter of “Love Never Fails”. 😛 First of all, I can’t agree with Reeka more …

Everything Has Changed?

Thank you, Nilva, for letting me know about “Everything Has Changed”, a song written by the American recording artist Taylor Swift and the British singer Ed Sheeran. Here is the link to the video (very cute by the way): To Nilva, part of the lyrics matches Albert’s feelings when he first recovered from amnesia: All I …
