Not quite agree with your analysis. If Candy had moved on.. there is no reason for her to naturally react that way… To me, her reaction is more like the grieve that she never confronted or resolved… and the closure that she needed for her to heal from that painful decision they both made at the time of separation. Sounds like PTSD to me. She is the person that it’s easy to let the past go, i.e. Annie, when she could see her again… she couldn’t stop staying away from her though she tried. She always believe as long as they are alive, there is always hope. Epilogue suppose to conclude the the story.. Albert is there always travel and communicate with her. She finally could write to Anothy after all these years, she ask for forgiveness and one day they meet … What happen to Terry then? Did she reply to him that she moved on? Or she made another decision at the turn? In the prologue, Ms Pony recovered from her sickness. Candy somehow in the strangest way she owns Slim’s oil painting which Slim was thought to be in US and thought didn’t had the chance to paint…Now interesting after all these years..” the old Pony house “ relived in her living room… it’s a miracle how things happened.. All her lost are found again… Albert is current. Anothy is gone. Terry is…..in the conclusion…

[…] In other words, Terry couldn’t possibly act like a spectator, so how could he feel nothing at all when Susanna had been suffering? It sounds cruel if he claimed he had remained the same man after going through all these with her. Don’t you agree? 😐 Not to mention he should have been giving her mental support for some period of time. Please don’t tell me that he had merely pretended to be kind to her. 🙁 For details, please read Susanna and Candy (Part 2). […]
