Hello Ms Puddle and Hello CC/CCFS Community,

Finally managed to catch up a bit with your recent posts, all of which are of high quality and thought-provoking. I’ve been abroad for a few months due to my job/promotion. It’s been an exciting albeit daunting experience as well. I guess all promotions are..

Nonetheless, we can enjoy some free time during the holidays and New Year.

I’m sorry to read on your blog that you’ve been a bit ill and stressed. I hope you’re getting better soon and well into full recovery.

I’ve also left a comment regarding the CCFS translations because I found a certain opinion to be rather “interesting”. I won’t get into further detail just now out of discretion. It would be preferable though if we just stick to the textual evidence provided by Nagita herself and simply accept (and especially respect) her intention to remain obscure and unobtrusive with regards to the ending of the CCFS and the identity of “anohito”.

Take Care of Yourself and Best Wishes for the New Year 2019,
    Interstellar

      Hello Everyone & Happy Holidays,

Ms Puddle, those two lovely drawings of Albert and Candy remind me so much of Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift. Joe Alwyn is stunning and he looks more and more like the manga-Albert as he’s getting older.

Glad to know that you’re getting better. It’s not really pleasant getting sick during the holidays-or any other time..

Interstellar, you’ve clearly made your point about focusing on textual evidence and I couldn’t agree with you more. There are loads of random viewpoints circulating all over the internet about CCFS but it’s just noise and nothing more than that. Some people even believe that Keiko Nagita is hiding from her own fans because she won;t reveal who anohito is. That’s so ridiculous. Nagita is not hiding from her fans. The reason why she stopped using social medial platforms was after having been horrifically harassed and cyber-bullied by certain Japanese political opponents when she had voiced her concern and overt criticism again the Japanese government surrounding nuclear disarmament and the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011 after the devastating Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.

Apparently, Nagita is not hiding nor is she afraid of her fans. Her fear stems from the continual online abuse she got from some pro-nuclear weapon malicious trolls. That’s the reason why she shut down her social media presence. It’s got nothing to do with CCFS. Some people really need to stop spreading unfounded rumours because it simply makes them look unintelligent.

      Happy Holidays, Folks!
      Sarah

      • Sarah says:

Ignore this typo (against not again): ..she had voiced her concern and overt criticism against the Japanese government…

      • Ms Puddle says:

Sarah, I take your comparison of my drawings to the new pair Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift a huge compliment indeed! 🤗 They make a beautiful couple, and like you, I also find Joe Alwyn’s resemblance to manga version Albert utterly striking! 👏

Yes, thank you for bringing up Nagita’s political stand and the so-called avoidance of social media. Apparently, some people just can’t stop speculating and/or spreading rumours. Hopefully their readers can use critical thinking.

Happy new year and best wishes to you, Sarah 🎊🎉

        • Sarah says:

          Hi Ms Puddle,

I had initially thought that Joe Alwyn looked more like Anthony but as he’s getting older his resemblance to Albert is striking. Let’s not forget that Nagita herself makes this Anthony-Albert resemblance/comparison when Candy had initially thought that Anthony was the POTH; later on she states that Anthony and Albert looked very much alike (in her letter to Anthony/Epilogue). Anthony died at the tender age of 15 and, apparently, his body had not reached it’s fully developed height and masculine frame (as in Albert’s case). A relative of mine was only 5ft6 when he was 15 and then sky-rocketed to a whopping 6ft3 by the time he became 18.

However, my impression is that Albert is lankier (leggier) and taller than everyone else, and this is depicted in both the anime and manga where he towers over all the other characters. He seems to be well within the 6ft3-6ft5 range and Terry would be within the 5ft11-6ft1 range. This is simply the impression I got from the novel, manga and anime. I think Myra had mentioned that Albert reminds her of Chris Hemsworth a lot and I could agree with her as he’s definitely taller and far more masculine than Joe Alwyn. He’s also got a lot leaner and toned if you see him in his latest film MIB with Liam Neeson. Liam Neeson in MIB reminds me so much of George.

As for those ludicrous and intellectually-impaired rumours that Albert is dead in the CCFS, that simply confirms the hysteria and desperation which has overwhelmed a certain portion (not everyone) of the Terry-fans. As their empty rhetoric and hate speech against Albert failed miserably, they have simply resorted to that final asinine attack by trying to “kill him off” as the Italian manga publishers had done back in the 1970s-1980s. Gotta fell sorry for them, really..

Get well soon and see you around,
          Sarah

          • Sarah says:

            Typo again..

            It’s “feel” not “fell”..

          • Interstellar says:

Both actors-Joe Alwyn and Chris Hemsworth-are so compelling and classy; they could both easily resemble Albert to a great deal. However, I think that as Joe Alwyn’s getting older and gradually more mature, his lean and slender physique along with his delicate and noble features appear to be more akin to Albert-at least they way he’s described in the manga and in the CCFS. Chris Hemsworth, especially in “Thor”, appears to resemble the more gargantuan anime version of Albert. But I do agree with you that Albert does appear to be safely around 6ft 3 inches or even taller than that. Nevertheless, both Joe Alwyn and Chris Hemsworth are very tall men who are over 6ft 2 inches. Notice how Joe Alwyn towers over the tall and statuesque Taylor Swift, who’s reportedly circa 5ft 11 inches.

            Interstellar

            • Sarah says:

You spoke my mind, Interstellar (cool choice for your username, BTW).

Joe Alwyn may have that “baby face” but he’s quite a tall guy. You’re absolutely right, only a very tall guy would be able to tower over Taylor Swift.

Check out this pic of his. I think that when Candy was describing Albert’s eyes like “the clear morning blue sky” (CCFS/Epilogue/Letters) she meant something like this:

              http://img.wennermedia.com/social/2-8b6aa22f-8388-4bee-b0a8-89662c07108e.jpg

              • Ms Puddle says:

Nice picture of handsome Joe Alwyn, Sarah! I completely agree with you and Interstellar regarding his height. Interstellar also spoke my mind about his resemblance to manga version of Albert. Yes, precisely because of his baby face he matches Candy’s description of his youthful appearance. She mentioned that not only to Archie but also directly to her Prince on the Hill himself in her letters. No doubt she had fallen in love. 😉

            • Avon says:

Indeed, Interstellar, Alwyn and Hemsworth bear such strong resemblances to Albert. It’s obvious that Keiko Nagita has demonstrated profound affection and respect for Albert, otherwise, she wouldn’t have generously prescribed so many superb attributes to him. Whether certain stubborn Terry-fans want to accept it or not, Albert is definitely superior to Terry in all aspects including physical strength and beauty, height, wealth, dignity and university education. Terry is beautiful and attractive as well albeit severely self-destructive, psychologically vulnerable, and horrifically violent and aggressive. Terry may be a complex character but he’s also a severely damaged man. Albert is just as intricate-if not even more so-but he’s nowhere near as reckless and violent as Terry is.

            • Avon says:

That’s a beautiful image of Alwyn, Sarah. He looks so much like the manga illustration of Albert even in his daily life.

    • Ms Puddle says:

Thanks Interstellar for your kind words. Once again congratulations on your promotion, and your experience being abroad for few months must be unforgettable, right? 😊

I don’t have much free time this Xmas either, but I’m thankful for a short break nonetheless. Things are gradually heading the right direction, but the stress has taken a toll. Anyway, I’m getting better now. Thanks again. You take care of yourself too, Interstellar 🤗

Happy to hear that you have slowly overcome the stress. Please take care of your health, my friend… 😊

Also, thanks for sharing Fay’s work to us. So glad to be able to read more about CCFS translation. For me, reading Candy and Albert story is a stress relieved activity 😁

Hopefully, when things get better you’ll have spare time to write us an update in near future.

    Best wishes,

Thanks for your kind and encouraging words about my works. Yes, I’m slowly recovering, taking a short break from work this Christmas.

Tell you what, keeping this blog of mine updated helped me in the past as well. Hopefully I have the energy to pick it up soon.

Best wishes to you too 😘😍

Thank you Avon 🤗 As in my replies to others, I’m feeling better and slowly recovering. I did take a long break from updating my blog but I will hopefully resume one day. Thanks for your kind words and you take care of yourself too, my friend 😘

          • Avon says:

By all means, Ms Puddle, take your time and resume *only* when *you* feel better. I’ve just read your comment about advising us to no longer post at the *CCFS Translations* section to avoid confusion but I had already posted my response to you and Interstellar..

Anyway, I’m so glad you’re feeling better. Health and well-being are the most important assets we’ve got.

            Hello Again, Ms Puddle,

I see that you’re still getting grief from that persistent commenter. You’re paying the price for being famous (just kidding).😂🤣

By all means, don’t feel compelled or pressured into answering each and every random CC/CCFS-query and/or dispute out there. At the end of the day, each person can believe whatever one wants. Let sleeping dogs lie..🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️

You don’t need to explain yourself concerning the obvious. Those of us within this community who have got class and integrity perfectly understand your need-and above all right-to rest and resume work whenever you consider it ideal for you. You’ve have already provided such massive and comprehensive data comprising the CC/CCFS that you can take a vacation for years if you want to. If some people still have doubts, well that’s their problem and they ought to find a way to sort out their personal issues themselves. You’re a computer scientist and a blogger-not a psychologist or psychiatrist.😎

            See you around,
            Avon

          • Sarah says:

Yeah.. I’ve been cringing myself with all that nonsense you’ve been getting from that person. I’ll second what Avon says here and also express my gratitude for your lovely work. Just focus on you and do whatever you want. You don’t owe anyone any explanation.

Changing the subject as they’re far more interesting stuff to talk about, have you wondered that the reason “anohito” gave Candy that luxurious Damascene jewellery box was for symbolic purposes?

I’ll first state that the chances Terry had made that gift are too slim for the following reasons:
            1. He was no longer a Granchester. His new ID was “Terrence Graham”.
            2. He had chopped off all ties with his dad and wanted nothing to do with him.
            3. He didn’t really have any ties with his mum either.
            4. His mum had no royal ties. She was a commoner.
            5. Terry never gave Candy any gifts. He had only “compromised the trains tickets to New York”, and there’s no mention in the CCFS that those tickets were “one-way”.

Now, the reasons why Albert appears to the “anohito” guy who had given that jewellery box to Candy are for the following most possible reasons:
            1. He’s an Ardlay-one of the wealthiest and most powerful North American magnates with a strong Scottish ancestry.
            2. He explains to Candy that the Ardlays bestow great respect and esteem to noble lineage and ancestry. Aunt Elroy and all the other Ardlay folks behave like royalty and are highly educated as such.
            3. Keiko Nagita keeps on providing constant references to jewellery boxes from Damascus within the property of the Ardlays (Sarah Lagan, Eliza, Aunt Elroy).
            4. Keiko Nagita also includes references regarding the Ardlay links and constant business trips to the Middle East (Lagans, Archie and Stear’s parents).
5.In stark contrast to Terry, Albert is a gift-giver and loves to spoil Candy rotten. He always wants to offer her gifts either through furniture, animals, making dinner for her, house-keeping, being by her side-you name it.

Yet, the most important aspect of that jewellery box is something which I think we have all ignored-both the Terry and the Albert fans-and it’s the symbolic significance of that Damascene jewellery box. Remember the very reason why Candy was kicked out of the Ardlay estate by the Lagans and going to be taken away for child labour to Mexico? It was because she was accused of theft-in particular, for having stolen valuables from the Ardlay jewellery boxes. Her name was smeared and her reputation irreversibly tarnished as she was stigmatised as a thief by the upper echelons of the Ardlay family. Unfortunately, this stigma remains as an indelible stain against Candy even when she had entered adulthood.

This is why one of Albert’s main priorities was to clear Candy’s name by urging Sarah Lagan to absolve Candy of any wrong-doing in full public view. This is huge..

Therefore, Sarah Lagan back paddled full-blown and publicly announced in front of all the high members of the Ardlay clan that Candy was not and is not a thief. Albert coerced Sarah Lagan to publicly eat humble pie and confess that Candy has been innocent since day dot.

It’s also noteworthy that the jewellery box also signifies Candy’s accumulation of memories in her new life with her beloved man. Albert was the one who had given her that diary as a gift back then at St Paul’s, and Albert is most likely the one who had also given her that jewellery box so she may continue storing her memories, but this time, anew and afresh with her third and final love.

As this is a very long post, please take your time and look into it only whenever you want and whenever you see fit. This info s at your disposal.

            Get well soon,
            Sarah

            • Ms Puddle says:

Insightful comment, Sarah! Sarah Lagan’s open ‘apology’ is undoubtedly a significant event, if not one of the highlights, post discovery of Granduncle William’s true identity.

May I quote you next time I write? It would be ideal if you can provide references in CCFS text (no need to list the exact pages but some context is great) 🙂

            • Sarah says:

By all means, Ms Puddle, feel free to make use of my comments regarding the CCFS. Glad to be of help.
              Sarah

            • Sarah says:

Ms Puddle-In response to your request, I’ll cite textual evidence from the CCFS. In order to avoid confusion, I’ll omit page numbers and refer to the chapters instead as they’re very small chapters anyway.

But which citations are you referring to exactly? If you mean the enumerated points I specified in my previous comment, then that’s easy. Here goes (I’ll use the exact same order as my previous comment where I have enumerated my main points) and please ignore any typos:

Textual evidence related to my comments on Terry:
              1. Terry’s no longer a Granchester and all media outlets refer to him as “Terrence Graham” (see Letter from Annie/Section 3/Volume 2). Most importantly, however, Terry made it clear to the headmistress at St Paul’s that he had renounced his father’s name. He was an “nullius filius” (illegitimate offspring born out of wedlock) anyway. Besides, his decision to abandon that boarding school defying his father’s will placed the tombstone to an already dead relationship with his father. (Chapter 17/Section 2/Volume 2). Candy herself also clearly states that Terry had renounced his father’s name and that he decided to continue on his own accord. There is absolutely no reference-even the slightest-that Terry had ever redeemed or resumed any form of contact with his father (Narrative 2/Section 3/Volume 2).
              2. Same citations with my comment 1. There’s also an additional reference coming from Candy where Terry is officially addressed as “Terrence Graham” and this remains permanent until the end of the CCFS (Narrative 7/Section 3/Volume 2).
              3. Same citations with my comment 1, however, we could add some further textual evidence being Terry’s refusal to have any interaction with his mum. This is obvious because she didn’t even dare to approach him during his severe mental breakdown and drunken stupor at that embarrassing Rockstown incident. His mum was simply watching him in despair but in silence and in secret most of all. (Letter to Eleanor Baker/Section 3/Volume 2).
              4. Eleanor Baker wasn’t an aristocrat, apparently. Otherwise, there would have been no issue for Granchester to marry her. Instead, he dumped her like a used rag and shipped his non-legit son to some boarding school as if he were some “stain” or “disease”. That boarding school was simply a means for daddy-Granchester to dump his out-of-wedlock kid and toss him a dime to keep his mouth shut. All this info is found repetitively mentioned and dispersed in the UK-related chapters (Chapters 6-8/Section 2/Volume 1 and Chapters 9-17/Section 2/Volume 2).
              5. There’s no textual evidence supporting that Terry had covered all the expenses for Candy during her stay at New York nor did he focus on providing a “one-way” ticket’; this is merely a fabrication of the anime and manga, both of which are excluded from the CCFS. There’s only a brief mention made by Candy that Terry had promised to invite her to his “Romeo&Juliet” play and that he would arrange for the tickets-she uses plural for “tickets” and not the singular form, presumably meaning that the whole transport arrangement constituted a return and not “one-way” ticket (Narrative 4/Section 3/Volume 2).

Textual evidence related to my comments on Albert:
              1. This reference concerning the Ardlays being one of the wealthiest and most powerful magnates in Chicago is all over the place in the CCFS. The fox hunting also indicates the Ardaly links and ties (needless to mention obsession) with their British ancestry and lineage (Chapter 20-Conclusion/Section 1/Volume 1).
              2. We already get to see that the Ardlay elders hold ancestry and high academic education in the highest esteem as the Ardlay youth were receiving intensive schooling even during the summer at Lakewood (Chapters 7-17/Section 1/Volume 1). Both women and men within the Ardlay clan receive equally high quality education and both women and men actively take part in all business affairs. Moreover, Albert also specifies this to Candy in his letters to her where he reiterates the Ardlay “obsession” with aristocracy, lineage, and academic education, hence, the ARdaly elders sending him to complete his university education at one of the most prestigious universities in the UK (Epilogue/Letters/Volume 2).
              3. The Ardlay luxurious jewellery box references are found in Chapters 5-16, especially Chapter 16 which refers to Sarah Lagan’s luxurious jewellery box and the aforesaid accusations of theft hurled against Candy/Section 1/Volume 1).
              4. Same as my comment 3 on Albert and the Ardlays. Chapters 5-20 centre on the wealth, power and global ties the Ardays have with regards to their business enterprises, including the Middle East (Chapter 5-20/Conclusion/Section 1/Volume 1). However, there’s also an additional reference concerning Stear and Archie’s parents and their continual business trips to the Middle East. They had even considered themselves not to be competent parents because they had neglected their own children for the sake of their wealth and business trips abroad (see final Letter from Patty; also see final Letter from Archie/Section 3/Volume 2).
              5. Albert’s tenderness, generosity and, above all, respect for Candy is ubiquitous throughout the Epilogue/Letters/Volume 2. These feelings are mutual as Candy reciprocates these emotions and love for Albert 100%. As readers, we clearly get to read about all this via Candy’s overt enthusiasm and delight surrounding Albert’s consideration for and commitment to her (for example, the furniture gifts, Caesar and Cleopatra, and so many other cases as explained by Candy in the Epilogue/Letters/Volume 2). She’s elated and overwhelmed with emotion and tenderness when Albert finally opens up to her and expresses his inner feelings as well as angst to her. For comprehensive context, I would suggest a full re-reading of the loving letters between Candy and Albert in the Epilogue.

On a final note, don’t forget that Candy indisputably specifies that Albert most certainly made Sarah Lagan humble herself and confess in full public view amongst the higher echelons of the Ardlay clan that Candy was not and is not a thief. This textual evidence is found in Candy’s letter to Sarah Lagan:

[Credits to Fay for her translation of the CCFS]:
              Letter to Mrs. Sara Lagan
              “Dear Mrs. Lagan,
I hope you are well. Thank you for having invited me to the opening party for the Resort Inn. Thanks to you I had the opportunity to visit a splendid hotel and to meet again people whom I hadn’t seen for a long time.
More than anything else, I would like to thank you for having denied in front of the whole family the fact that I have the habit of stealing. Actually this is an accusation which for many years has cast a shadow in my heart, and I can assure you that I am completely innocent.
When I expressed my gratitude, you answered me that you had simply obeyed Great Uncle William’s orders, but even so, I imagine it cost you a lot to pronounce those words.
I take advantage of this opportunity to thank you again and I hope your Resort Inn Hotels increase in number more and more. Candice W. Ardlay”
(Letter to Sarah Lagan/Straight after Narrative 3 where Candy is described closing her “luxurious” jewellery box given to her by “anohito”/Section 3/Volume 2).
[Credits to Fay for her translation of the CCFS]

Hope this helps. Let me know if you want more info.
