    Hi!

Really enjoyed reading your new chapter. The quality of your English is undeniably very high and so is the congruence of the structure of this story so far.

By the way, that illustration of Candy by Yumiko Igarashi is so interesting because it depicts her in a completely different light to what the readers are accustomed to. In this illustration, in particular, Candy seems to be melancholic and that’s different to her otherwise ‘signature-style’ cheerful tone. On the other hand, however, this drawing bestows depths-of-character and elicits emotion.

Thanks for sharing and kind regards!

    • Ms Puddle says:

Hello @Lakewood, you made me blush 😊😚 Thank you so much for your compliments. Now this is pressure… Just kidding. I’ll try my best to keep up.

Yes I really like this particular illustration by Yumiko Igarashi. We can feel Candy’s feelings, so tangible.

Take care and best regards to you too 🤗

      • Lakewood says:

No pressure, Ms Puddle. Take your time and whenever you’re ready to submit your subsequent material is entirely up to you. Besides, it’s summer and you deserve a break just like everybody else.

        • Ms Puddle says:

Thank you @Lakewood. I’m taking a short break now btw but I’ll start writing again soon. I hope you will enjoy your summer break too 🤗

    Hello Ms Puddle,

Thank you for considering my comment in your new post. I appreciate your feedback and support.

Unsurprisingly so, your new chapter is fascinating and the characters involved are so relatable and engrossing. I am also looking forward to knowing more about Kimberly and the nature of her relationship with Albert. Based on your story so far, Kimberly appears to be infatuated with Albert; however, it is uncertain whether or not those feelings are reciprocal. As far as the CCFS is concerned, Albert did seem positively impressed by this young and beautiful American nurse to the point of devoting written time for her in his letter to Candy. Yet, emotions and people change eventually and irrevocably. Therefore, it remains to be seen how this story will unfold.

    Regards,
    Anita

    • Ms Puddle says:

Thank you @Anita for your contribution actually 🤗

What a delight to know that you found this new chapter fascinating! Thank you for your kind words ❣️ About Kimberly’s relationship with Albert, as I mentioned to others, I’ll reveal more as the story unfolds. I hope you won’t be disappointed. 😉

    • Anita says:

      Thank you!

  3. Halcyon Days says:

    Greetings!

I am impressed with the rapid pace of your online contributions with regards to your fanart and fanfiction. I am pleased to see that you have resumed writing and your new work so far is amazing. These new chapters are so vivid that it’s as if I’m watching a movie. You have brought life to the characters of the CCFS by delving into their darker feelings such as insecurities, jealousy, dread, etc. Well-developed and intricate characters have a wealth of traits ranging and often vacillating between the positive and negative ones. This is what being human is all about and humans are known to be inherently fallible and susceptible to making mistakes. Provided these characters learn from their mistakes and intend to improve, then such characters demonstrate a proclivity for further development and are worthy of note.

Apparently, I find your idea to bring Kimberly into the scene (or in Candy and Albert’s case, into the ‘arena’), to be a brilliant one because it adds so much intrigue and thus makes the plot so interesting.

I look forward to your next chapter but only when convenient for you. No need to rush . Take your time and enjoy the summer vacation.

    All best!

    • Ms Puddle says:

Greetings to you too, @Halcyon Days! Thank you so much for your highly encouraging feedback❣️ So glad to hear you find my fanfic intriguing and like my Kimberly as the “third wheel”. 😉

Like you, I think both Candy and Albert have their flaws and are far from perfect. I don’t understand why it took him so long before he decided to confess to her on Pony’s Hill. Some people said Terry might be the reason but I think there could be more than that. Candy’s trolling or anger might contribute to Albert’s insecurities as well. Who knows? 😉

I usually take a brief break in between chapters but thanks for your understanding. I’ll do my best. Hope you enjoy your summer too! Take care 🤗

      • Halcyon days says:

Taking a break is a sensible decision and you sure do deserve it. I hope you enjoy your leisure-time and focus on doing what you love the most.

        Best Regards!

        • Ms Puddle says:

Thanks again @Halcyon days for your kind words❣️ The same to you too. Take care and stay safe 🤗

  4. Fay says:

Thank you for providing a new chapter of your story so soon, Ms. Puddle. Take care of yourself too. The pandemic is still here and there is a long way until we manage to get over it completely. The climate change is here too as we can see daily. Right now a severe heat wave has hit southern Europe. Here in Greece the temperature is well over 40 and will reach up to 45 C degrees. It is the worst and longest heat wave this country has experienced in decades.

Your story is getting better and better. You have managed to give an intricate and intriguing nature to the relationship of Candy and Albert. There are certainly special feelings between them, but neither has found a way to express them to the other yet. Apart from the revelation of Albert’s identity and his new role in Candy’s life, there is the presence of Kimberly, who apparently is in love with Albert. Remains to be seen if there is any hope for Albert to reciprocate (since this is about Candy and Albert, I guess there is not), but her appearance will definitely create some issues. She is a character we know very little about, and it is no wonder that in many fanfictions Albert is having a romantic relationship with her. Maybe he did, since Albert has remained a mystery to the readers as well. There are still a lot we don’t know about him either, so it is possible there was something special between him and that nurse who looked like Candy. There are some who claim that he might have a romantic relationship with the nurse because she reminded him of Candy whom he had been trying to forget (meaning he had feelings for her before he left for Africa). I don’t agree with that theory either. I think everything started during their cohabitation while he was amnesiac and knew Candy from a new perspective, not knowing anything about his past. I wish Nagita had been able to reveal more about Albert’s life as she said she wished to. Too bad that restrictions from her publishers didn’t let her write all she had in mind about certain characters, as Albert, Terry, Susanna, Patty, even Neal. Especially Albert, both in the manga and the novel, is revealed as a fascinating and multilayered character, even though certain parts of his life remain unknown to the readers. I’m glad to see that you delve deeply into his feelings and thoughts in your new story, as you have done in all your previous stories.

Keep up the good work, and don’t forget to give yourself some well-deserved rest.

    • Fay says:

Also thank you for providing the above illustration from Nakayoshi magazine and for the translation offered. This is a beautiful drawing of Candy. She seems so feminine and charming here.

      • Sarah says:

I agree with you, Fay. That illustration from the Nakayoshi magazine is stunning and Candy’s expression is different as if a bit more pensive and brooding.

      • Ms Puddle says:

Hi @Fay, so glad to read you also like the picture I shared (kindly provided by Mariela from her collection). I think Candy in this particular drawing is very pretty too, and I chose it mainly because it matches the mood in this chapter. 💕

    • Myra says:

The heatwave hasn’t hit Athens yet-at least not the Northern suburbs where I currently reside but the meteorological reports state that it could hit a 41-42 degrees Celsius during next week. It’s the forest fires which are the most devastating though and the government is useless, as always. I hope you live at a safe distance from those dangerous areas.

On a positive note, however, our country has such a large variety of stunning beaches where we could swimming and eventually beat the heat to a certain point.

      Take care!

      • Myra says:

Apologies.. Meant to say: “We could go swimming..”.

      • Fay says:

It seems that the temperature of 41 and 42 degrees will be the usual thing for most of the areas the following days. A difficult week is ahead of us. You are right. What makes the situation even worse is the wild fires. Luckily there is not any where I live, in southern Peloponnese, and I do live near the sea, although even in my hometown we reached 40 degrees Celsius yesterday.
But as you said, at least our country is blessed with many wonderful beaches which can somehow help us bear this unusual heat.
Take care too, and stay safe.

      • Ms Puddle says:

You take care too, @Myra!! I’m sure the beaches will be full of people so be careful too. The pandemic is not over yet. Sigh…

    • Ms Puddle says:

Thank you very much for your positive feedback, @Fay 💞 You made my day!

About Albert and Kimberly’s relationship in my fanfic, please be patient with me. I’ll reveal more in each chapter to keep it intriguing. About Albert’s feelings for Candy, I also agree the romantic feelings didn’t start until he was suffering from amnesia, at least in the manga version. In my fanfic I made him more unaware of his own feelings… At least not yet. 😉

I try not to write long chapters so each chapter is focused, and I can update more frequently. In light of the surge of new cases around the world, I totally agree with you about the global pandemic being far from over. Since I stay home anyway I spend my spare time on something I really enjoy. Thanks for your kind words, my friend 🤗

I also heard about the wild fires and the heat wave that will likely last till next week. I sincerely hope you’ll find ways to keep cool and hydrated. Make sure you drink lots of fluids too. The heat wave that we experienced several weeks ago was terrible, and hundreds of people actually died because of that. Many of them had lived alone and had not taken any precautions unfortunately. 🙁

Take good care of yourself, Fay 🥰 Do you live close enough to any beach?

      • Fay says:

I can’t wait to read more about Albert and Kimberly. As you said, since Candy had already two romances at this young age, not to mention her childhood crush on Prince on the Hill, why couldn’t a grown up man like Albert be also romantically involved with another woman? Besides, he was 11 years older than Candy and it would be natural for him to have a few romantic experiences before he met and loved her. There have been many speculations about Albert’s love past, especially because very little is known about his life, let alone about any possible love affairs. So it will be very interesting to see how his relationship with Kimberly will evolve in your story.

The heat wave in Canada was indeed terrible, and the number of deaths was shocking to say the least. People were not used to such high temperatures, and therefore they were totally unprepared. All these extreme weather phenomena give us clear warning that our planet is in serious danger. I sincerely hope there is still time to do something to reverse the situation before it is too late.

Fortunately I live in a seaside town, and my home is less than a kilometer away from the beach. However, even in places near the sea temperatures are very likely to reach more than 40 degrees C.

        • Ms Puddle says:

Thank you @Fay for your encouragement! 🤗 Yes you’re right. We know so little about Albert’s past except for his upbringing or imprisonment as the sole heir. It makes sense that he had feelings or involvement with other ladies prior to his accident in Italy, and the American nurse without a name was highly likely one of them.

About the heat wave, I agree. Like you, I hope it’s not too late yet. 😣 Do take care of yourself. What I did weeks ago was to wrap a damp towel around the back of my neck with all the fans turned on. Once the towel became warm I rinsed it with cold water again.

    • Christine says:

      Hello Fay and Myra,
How are you? Are you alright? I’ve been reading about the wildfires near your vicinity and I hope both of you are safe. If I’m not mistaken, Fay lives within the Peloponnese peninsula and Myra in the suburban region of Northern Attica.

      • Fay says:

Hello, @Christine. Thank you for asking about us. I’m all right, and thankfully safe although there are wildfires in my area too. I sincerely hope Myra is also all right, since Northern Attica is the area most plagued by the wildfires. This is indeed a great catastrophe. A devastating blow for the environment that will definitely affect our lives for many years to come.

There had been another terrible wildfire three years ago in a seaside area east of Athens called Mati. 102 people had died then, most of them in the fire and several drowned trying to escape to the sea when they were trapped in a beach.

        • Christine says:

I’m so glad you’re alright. Hopefully, Myra is too.
As for Mati, yes, I’ve read about it and I remember the news coverage about it online. It was a terrible tragedy and, unfortunately, those who govern the country appear to not have learned from the grave errors of the past. There seems to be very little protection when it comes to forest fires and arson in Greece even though the hot and dry weather during the summer should have kept the governmental officials alert 24/7.

          • Ms Puddle says:

            Agree with you, @Christine.

Here there’s a strict ban of open fire or BBQ in the parks but people don’t always adhere to the rules. Sometimes people care more about their freedom 😕

          • Myra says:

Thank you so much for your concern, @Christine. That’s very kind and considerate of you. Indeed, I live in Northern Athens but in a suburban area which is at a safe distance (at least for the time-being) from the afflicted areas. However, the smoke and smell of burnt wood and chemicals have permeated all of Athens and the area which I live in is no exception. Those areas which have been burnt have a massive ecological as well as emotional value for me and for so many people. Those areas in the North of Attiki which have been destroyed used to be picturesque and scenic landscapes with lakes, rives and all sorts of dense flora and forests, especially pine trees. Pine tress, however, could turn into a severe nightmare for fire-fighters when burning because their pine resin exacerbates the spreading and intensity of the forest fires. So far, the fire appears to have abated a bit but in other areas it’s still very dangerous and could ignite again and become even worse than before. The high winds are not helping the situation at all. It seems as if the stage has been set for the ‘perfect storm’, or rather in this case, the ‘complete eradication of the natural environment and ecosystem in Northern Attiki. This horrific event is going on all over Greece and so many people have been forced to evacuate their homes. No one knows how this end. What’s for sure though is that the Greek government is a circus and the prime-minister is a clown. He has only demonstrated political ineptitude and if he has an iota of dignity (which I doubt), he must hand in his resignation once this nightmare ends.

            • Myra says:

Typo: No one knows how this will end.

              • Myra says:

Apologies, @Christine, but my previous message is riddled with typos. Apparently, I meant to type @rivers’ and not ‘rives’; I also meant to type ‘trees’ and not ‘tress’. Just for the record..

                • Christine says:

                  No worries, Myra.
I’m glad and relieved that you and Fay are alright.
I totally agree with you when it comes to incompetent governments and political leaders. They seem to be effective only during election campaigns and that’s the only time they value-or pretend to value-human life and well-being.

                • Ms Puddle says:

So true, @Christine. To add insult to the injury the elected politicians don’t usually keep their promises 🙁

                • Christine says:

Unfortunately, it all boils down to zero accountability from politicians and lack of socio-political vigilance and awareness from the citizens who voted for them.

        • Ms Puddle says:

So glad to hear that you’re all right, @Fay! How are you coping with the heat wave these few days? Best wishes to @Myra too 🙏

I wonder what caused these wildfires in Greece. The forest fires happened in the past or happening now in our province were primarily caused by people negligence 😣😤

It finally rains today after 40+ days of dry streak in Vancouver. Hopefully that helps with the fight against the spread of wildfires.

          • Fay says:

The heat wave seems to have passed for now, although the atmosphere is still polluted by ashes carried by the wind. Unfortunately, wind hasn’t stopped, and this is the big problem when there are wildfires. It gets terribly difficult to put them out when it’s windy. It’s really dreadful to see all those villages destroyed, houses burnt down, thousands of people leaving their homes with as many belongings as they have been able to save, all those poor creatures, wild and domestic, which perished in the fire, and of course the few remaining forests in our country. There are also two people dead because of the fires, a firefighter and the owner of a factory who saw his property being destroyed by fire, and as it has been said, the shock had been so great for him that he died of a heart attack.

In most cases, arson is the cause for wildfires in Greece. Sometimes there is negligence too, but considering the great damages caused, this is no less a crime. As in the case of Mati in 2018, it was reported that the fire was caused by negligence. That negligence, though, led 102 people to their death, not to mention the damage to forests and buildings in the area.

Sadly, the ecological damage by the current wildfires is too great. There will be nothing left for next generations who will know what a forest looks like only from books, movies or TV documentaries.

            • Myra says:

Thank you for your concern, @Ms Puddle and @Fay. Regarding @Fay’s analysis, she is spot on and I have nothing more to add. I have already explained a similar reality to @Christine in my message above.
As far as these current fires are concerned, however, it appears that several people have been arrested because they were circulating in the afflicted areas with various chemicals and other flammable products. Although climate change is for real, this particular nationwide disaster in Greece could be a result of organized arson. It’s not the first time such crimes have been committed against the wildlife and human population of this country.

              • Ms Puddle says:

Glad to hear from you too @Myra. It saddens me to read people have deliberately destroyed the environment, and not the first time too 😭

                • Sarah says:

While deeply saddened for the unprecedented chaos afflicting Greece and many other countries due to the catastrophic repercussions of climate change, I am pleased to know that both of you-Fay and Myra-are safe from harm. The wildfires (or arson) must be a devastating blow to you, your loved ones and your nation as a whole.

                • Anita says:

Glad that you’re safe, folks. I’ve been communicating with my friends from Greece as well as my Greek colleagues here in the UK. The situation is beyond any form of rectification. The only ‘positive’ note is that the death toll isn’t anywhere as near as the devastating fire in Mati in 2018 which claimed over a hundred lives and injured almost two hundred. Nonetheless, this current fire in Greece has ruined the lived of thousands of people and rendered them homeless.

                • Fay says:

Thank you, @Sarah and @Anita for your concern. Indeed, this is devastating to the whole country. Climate change is here but it is precipitated by those criminal actions, since the disaster that takes place in Greece right now is definitely arson. The area most destroyed is the island of Evia which is burning for six consecutive days. I agree with @Anita that regarding the death toll the current situation can’t be compared to the tragedy of Mati, but unfortunately it’s also disastrous, considering that the lives of thousands of people will be affected and nature was possibly given the “final blow”. About 1,2 million acres have been burned in Greece until now.

                • Ms Puddle says:

Hi @Fay, I must say it’s unfathomable why some people intentionally destroyed the forests of their own country and properties of their fellow countrymen, leaving disastrous consequences. As you said, thousands of people were affected and lost their homes or villages. 😢

Strangely, before I read your comments or Myra’s, I thought the causes were primarily climate change and the extreme heat. The articles that I’ve read, like this one below, mentioned nothing about arson. Of course I believe you and Myra, but I wonder why important details like this have been omitted.

                  [lives]

                • Myra says:

Thank you all for expressing your concern. This is profoundly appreciated.🙏

                • Myra says:

The crux of these recurrent devastating forest fires in Greece are a result of certain factors ranging from climactic conditions to political corruption and blatant political ineptitude. Adverse weather conditions often in tandem with extreme heatwaves have never been unbeknown to the Greece regions, especially during the summer season. However, when Greeks vote for politicians who are short-sighted, greedy and cunning-foolish jackasses it’s inevitable that such catastrophic events will occur and reoccur without anyone in charge ever being held accountable. Whether right-wing or left-wing politically, the common denominator of those political parties in power is utmost and unlimited stupidity and downright sleaziness. Right now in Greece, there is public rage ignited against the prime-minister and no one would blame these people. I’m with them 100%. However, the Greek citizens have to do more than express rage. When the dust sets in, it’s going to have to be a time for reckoning and action-taking. Resignations are obvious and if the don’t happen, then there is a strong possibility that political instability will become even more severe which could lead to civil unrest and eventually early elections.

                • Myra says:

                  Typo Alert: “…Greek regions…”.

Please ignore any other typos if found.

With regards to your queries concerning the international press surrounding the allegations of arson having been committed, there are reports (from the Greek as well as foreign press) regarding the arrest of possible culprits. No one is denying climate change; however, there appears to have been alleged arsonists having taken advantage of the extensive heatwave so as to hurt other people and the environment. There have even been arrests involving alleged arsonists trying to set fire to parks within the city centre of Athens these past few days.

                • Anita says:

Each and every logical and intelligent individual understands and empathizes with your frustration, Myra. Unfortunately, the politics of greed superimpose any infinitesimal element of dignity and natural beauty in this world. Not that everyone is unscrupulous. On the contrary, the greatest majority of people have the best of intentions for both the human and non-human existence of this world. However, there are only very few people courageous enough to take action whilst most people remain silent and thus passive recipients of this worldwide injustice and slaughter of nature.

I’ve got nothing else to say but quote the erudite Canadian astrophysicist, Hubert Reeves, who is brief and concise on this matter:

“Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshiping.”(Hubert Reeves)

                  Exactly!

                • Lynn says:

I’m sorry to hear about the mass destruction involving the forest fires in such a beautiful country as Greece. I am relieved that Fay and Myra are safe from harm.

I would also like to thank Myra for providing those useful links to articles for us English-speakers.

Unfortunately, the repercussions of climate change have arrived much sooner and have become far more aggressive than originally fathomed by researchers in the relevant fields of study. Such mass destruction of wildlife worldwide may become the ‘new normal’ from now on. Hopefully, humanity can resume to logic and become effectively considerate to the environment and its natural resources before it’s too late.

                • Myra says:

Thank you @Ms Puddle for sharing the aforementioned links provided.

I would also like to thank @Lynn and everyone here in the forum for their heartfelt words and generous support.

                  Take care and stay safe!

  5. DreamCatcher says:

Thank you very much for providing this new chapter so quickly. How kind of you to share your creative content with us even though you’re so busy with your real-life job and other responsibilities. I know I may sound a bit ‘motherly’ but please make sure to get some rest during this summer as you have earned it with all your hard work. I’m a bit of a ‘workaholic’ myself but my husband and I have taken a vow to always try to take a break from work even if it’s rather short. Research has shown that even short breaks at regular intervals during the winter, spring and summer seasons do wonders for human health and well-being.

How about the vaccination? Are you over and done with that procedure? The CDC has issued an announcement that a third dose may be required due to the delta variant.

There’s definitely light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to this global pandemic but we still need to travel many more miles until we reach the desirable end.

    • Ms Puddle says:

Thank you @DreamCatcher for your kind words. Your concerns for my well-being is deeply appreciated❣️ Yes I’m a bit of a workaholic myself lol but I do sometimes take breaks by going to the nature. Where I live is blessed with ocean, lakes, rivers and mountains. That being said, I enjoy the process of writing (or entertaining my imagination), and I have so much in my head that I want to write them down. 🤗

I’m glad to hear that you and your husband are making a point to rest from time to time. That’s very wise 👍👏 I agree that short breaks are essential to our health. I’ve accumulated many vacation days due to Covid and my manager said the same, so I’ll take some short breaks for the rest of this year.

I’ve got two doses of Pfizer and yes I heard of the discussions of getting the third doses. Sigh… I’m not as optimistic as you though. For now I’ll definitely wear a mask or two whenever I go out.

      Take care DreamCatcher!

      • DreamCatcher says:

Based on the recent announcements made by the CDC, wearing facial masks and maintaining social distancing continues to be imperative for vaccinated and unvaccinated alike due to this far more aggressive COVID-19 variant.

  6. Irana93 says:

Marvellous chapter, Ms Puddle! It was such a nice welcome to receive this update from you. I have enjoyed reading this additional chapter of yours while having my morning coffee at the veranda. Despite the intense heat, the nearby beach is a most beautiful welcome and the sea view is fantastic.

The character development is done so well as you have retained the authenticity of Keiko Nagita’s character in tandem with providing your own distinct style in writing. Having read your other fanfiction as well, it’s pretty much evident that you have developed your own writing style; on the one hand, you always demonstrate so much respect for Nagita, and on the other hand, you equivalently manage to maintain your own style in written expression. Kudos to you for that.

Talk to you again soon and enjoy the summer!

      Typo: Nagita’s characters …

    • Ms Puddle says:

Thank you @Irana93 for reading my fanfics. Your positive feedback is very much appreciated❣️ You made me blush 😊 I’ll try my best to continue writing this fanfic.

I hope you enjoy your vacation so far. Must be nice taking a well-deserved break. I’m not going anywhere at this point, especially there are outbreaks everywhere it seems.

Take care and stay safe, Irana93 🤗

    Hello again!

Very pleased to have read the third chapter of your story. The plot is getting more and more fascinating and intricate. I also like those brief snippets of information regarding the relationship between Albert and Kimberly whilst working together at the medical clinic in Kenya.

I’m so anticipating the next chapter and thank you so much for your time.

    • Michelle says:

Furthermore, I want to point out that I agree 100 per cent with what Anita has stated in her very insightful and intelligent comment.

It goes without saying that there was never anything romantic going on between Candy and Albert during Candy’s schooling at St Paul’s in London because both of them were in completely different phases in their lives. Besides, Candy was only a teenager back then and falling in love with Terry albeit torn asunder regarding Anthony’s untimely death. As for Albert, he had absolutely no romantic feelings whatsoever for Candy but only felt pity and compassion for her. This is the reason why he listened to the desperate pleas of the his nephews and saved Candy from harm in Mexico by becoming her guardian and protector until she reaches legal age.

However, Albert was a very young and rebellious man himself and after having completed his university studies in England and having established several successful business within the proximity of London, he decided to embark on a long journey to Africa and leave everything and everyone behind. It was ***his*** life and he had every right to do what he wanted with his own life and future. Yet, Nagita wanted to couple Albert and Candy but that happened much later in their lives when they were both legally consenting adults and having endured many trials and tribulations together-as Anita has very accurately pointed out.

      • Irana93 says:

Well said, @Michelle! Couldn’t agree with you more and, indeed, @Anita’s commentary is erudite and astute.

      • Ms Puddle says:

Yes, my sentiments exactly, @Michelle. Candy was really way too young when she was studying in London, and Albert was around mid-twenties or so.

Though he never meant to be her father figure or guardian, he should know he was her benefactor. That alone should affect his mindset somewhat. He probably could already sense something brewing between Candy and Terry too. That’s why the author made him lose all his memories later in the story to make it possible for Albert to get to know Candy “from scratch”.

That being said, there are some readers who think otherwise, which is fine with me as long as we respect one another’s perspectives. 🙂 😉

    • Ms Puddle says:

Thank you very much for your encouraging words, @Michelle❣️ So happy to hear that you like reading about Albert and Kimberly’s relationship. I was initially a bit worried when I had this story in mind. Some readers can’t seem to accept that Albert had feelings for other women in his past. Come to think of it, Candy being ten years younger had two love interests (or three, if including POTH) before Albert, so why can’t he? 😉

      • Michelle says:

Of-course, that could be the case. Otherwise, it would be double-standards mentality. That being said, what can apply for one character could also apply for another. Just as all the other CC characters had the innate right to be rebellious and adventurous, Albert also had that same right.

        • Jesse says:

Well said – Ms Puddle & Michelle! Some fans foolishly believe that Terry is the only one who’s got the right to be rebellious but that’s apparently not the case as many other characters in the CCFS turned out to be much more courageous, praiseworthy and revolutionary such as Candy, Albert, Stear and George. Another highly commendable character is Fran Hamilton because she had the fortitude and utmost strength of character to provide her medical services in the crux of the battlefield during WWI.

          • Michelle says:

Thanks, @Jesse, and I agree with you that there are far braver characters in the novel and one such ‘unsung hero’ is the Salvation Army nurse, F. Hamilton. In her own words, Candy expresses utmost respect and admiration for Hamilton’s bravery but also commitment to her line of work and professional responsibilities. If anyone could be regarded as a feminist in this novel, that definitely is Hamilton; she’s educated, intelligent, dynamic and independent.

Carissima!

      Cara @moira78💞 Grazie mille 🥰

So glad to read you like reading the doubts and reservations of Candy and Albert. What a delight to hear that you’re intrigued about the story of Albert and the nurse. I’m sure there are many fanfics about them, and you’re right about her name, because she doesn’t have a name in the original story. 😀

So you think Albert had feelings for Candy in London? Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and yes we have different opinions, but of course that’s fine. Thanks again for your encouraging feedback❣️

    Hello,

I have enjoyed reading the continuation of your recent story. I wonder how the dynamics between Candy and Albert will develop as this obvious tension between them is intriguing.

    Take Care and Thanks!

    • Ms Puddle says:

Thank you so much @Myra, and like I said to @Sarah, it’s very encouraging to know that you read my update already. 🥰 You take care too 🤗

Looking forward to the next chapter and thanks for keeping us posted!

I would like to hear from you!
